Characteristics of Inflatable Boats

30th July 2020 / Author: admin

The three big factors to consider when looking to purchase an inflatable boat are: quality, durability and price.

Quality

There are a number of companies that are well known as makers of high quality inflatable boats. Companies known for their high quality boats usually have the highest prices on boats of comparable size and design.

High quality companies still offer boats of different sizes, and designs with a range of durability to fit the needs and budgets of different boaters. If you want the best quality manufacturing stick with one of the known high quality brands.

Buying a high quality brand means you are getting the best fabrics and the best quality control available. Buying a high quality brand means you are getting the best service and support for our product. Some of the high quality brands are huge companies – others are small.

Many inflatable boats are made in Chinese or Korean factories, with Chinese or Korean designs and Chinese or Korean quality control. Some of these factories are quite happy to put any brand name on the boat. These are called “re-branded” boats.

With the internet at our fingertips it is easy to find different “brands” that are obviously the same boats. Because of the lower level of quality control and the inferior designs of many cheap inflatable boats, the labels “Made In China” and “Made in Korea” have become synonymous with low quality.

Interestingly, many products that are made in China or Korea are very high quality. But these products are usually North American, European, Australian or New Zealand designs, with North American, European, Australian or New Zealand quality control.

The real challenge comes in figuring out which of the cheap inflatable boats are higher quality Asian products and which are inferior quality. The most important points to consider when looking at cheap inflatable boats which are “Made In China” or “Made In Korea” are:

who created the design
who is responsible for the quality control
what is the reputation of the company selling the boat
how long has the company been around
what are other customers saying about the product

The companies to be careful with are those that simply re-brand a boat made in a factory where they have no input or control over design, quality, or materials. It is very hard to see quality just looking at a boat in a store or on the internet, but it shows up when you use them! It shows up when you try to put them together, all the parts fit! It shows up in the water, the performance is better! It shows up over time, they last longer!

Durability

If you want a more durable boat you will need to buy a boat that is designed for primary use. Yes, it will cost more but you will be getting a boat that will last for 15 to 20 years without any troubles! Buyers must be careful here, just because you buy from a high quality manufacturer does not mean you are buying the most durable boat.

Quality construction with light weight material will not last very long with heavy use. It is not very durable, but it may be the perfect boat for some uses. The entry level light duty boats offered by the high quality brands compare very closely to some of the low cost brands, but the lower price of the lesser known brands often tips the balance in their favor.

Today, even the high quality manufacturers are finding ways to make a cheaper boat to compete in the “low price” category. As a buyer you should know that any brand or model that competes on price alone is sacrificing durability to do it!

Price

Everyone loves to save money. Just because you want to buy a cheap inflatable boat does not mean you want a piece of junk. Among the low price inflatable boats you will find many companies that are willing to compete on price. These are all Chinese or Korean made boats, often sold as “re-branded” boats.

Some brands do not compete on price alone. They are lower priced than the high quality brands, but will cost more money than re-branded import boats of comparable size and style. None of the re-branded import companies build a true heavy duty boat, and very few even build a true “sport” boat (a more durable recreational boat), so if you want a durable boat, do not buy one of these brands.

The brands that compete on price focus on light duty boats. Which is not surprising, because the light duty price range is the one that will sell the most boats! Do not be fooled by marketing and flashy pictures. Companies create a product with a lower price by cutting corners. Cutting corners means a lower quality product with a much shorter life expectancy. All inflatable boats look good on the showroom floor! Ask lots of questions, do lots of reading. You will be much happier with your purchase in the end.

Inflatable boats are both portable and lightweight making them very versatile and convenient. These boats typically consist of rubber floors that may contain wood, aluminum, or steel to make them more rigid. The side and bow tubes are constructed of PVC or Hypalon to allow the boat to be more buoyant and lightweight. Certain boats have the option of including an outboard motor that ranges form 5 horsepower to 80 horsepower. These boats are popular as fishing and hunting boats because of their weight and portability. An inflatable boat is an affordable alternative to the more traditional fiberglass or aluminum fishing boat. Cheap inflatable boats are available in a range of different styles. Finding the right boat can be a very tedious and difficult task, but here are some inflatable boats to give an idea of what is on the market.

The SeaHawk inflatable fishing boat is available in two person to four person capacities and range in price from $24.95 to $119.95. The boat is black with yellow and blue accents. It is constructed of high molecular PVC that is resistant to oil, gas, salt water, sunlight, abrasion, and impact. The boat includes a gear pouch, two holders for fishing rods, a grab line, a grab handle at the bow, a repair patch, and welded oar locks. The SeaHawk 400, or four-person boat, has inflatable seat cushions. Optional motor mounts are available for both the SeaHawk 300 and the SeaHawk 400. These boats can be purchased as a set that includes a 12V DC pump and two oars. Each boat has been approved by the U. S. COAST GUARD ID RWTUV.

The Sevylor Fish Hunter HF280 9′ Fishing Boat is available for the price of approximately $150 and features a four person capacity with a maximum weight limit of 700 pounds. The boat is army green in color and has black and yellow accents. It includes two fishing rod holders, two safety valves, two inflatable seats, swivel oarlocks, and a battery pouch. It will accept Sevylors 12 volt motor at either the bow or stern or a 2.5 HP gas motor if placed at the stern.

The Sea Eagle 124 Super Motor Mount Boat is a four person capacity boat with a maximum weight limit of 1,560 pounds and is available for approximately $236. The boat is white with blue accents and is constructed of K80 PVC. It includes two fishing rod holders, an all around grab line, four molded oarlocks, a towing grommet, an I-bean floor, a pressure gauge, three one way air valves, a foot pump, two oars, and a motor mount. It also features an engine capacity of 6hp with a maximum weight of 75 pounds. Its estimated speed with a gas motor is 5-6 mph and 4-5 mph with an electric motor. This boat is very roomy and weighs approximately 95 pounds. Cheap inflatable boats are essential for any avid fisherman or hunter.

When searching for a cheap inflatable boat, there are loads of options and features that you may not realize come standard. These flexible boats have unique designs that give them a step up on traditional boats and make them very fascinating for many eventualities.

Here are 3 features that you really ought to know but also may inspire you about these water-crafts.

1. Easily Stored and Cartable

Thanks to the fact that these boats are inflatable, they’re extraordinarily light compared with traditional boats but they also are far easier to store. By shriveling your ship you can simply store it in a little section of your garage or basement and not occupy half your driveway like a large conventional boat would.

Besides being easily stored, they also are terribly movable. Just throw the deflated ship in the trunk and off you go. If you like to camp and have a camper trailer, now you can tow your camper and not need to leave the boat behind. Then when you need the ship, simply take it out and pump it up and you are prepared for the water.

On a side note, you will need an electric pump and a foot-pump. The electrical pump will save everyone a lot of manual labor and is quicker but you’ll still need the foot pump to get the pressure high enough. Often the electric will get your cheap inflatable boat about eighty five % full in about five mins and then you’ll need another 5 mins with the foot pump for the remaining 15%.

2. Strength and Stability that you’ll Not Flip Out Over

Cheap inflatable boats are designed with large air chambers and a low centre of balance. They sit terribly flat on the water and are actually hard, in truth darn close to impossible to flip. Which makes these boats ideal for fishing (I really like to occasionally stand while fishing) and are also perfect for scuba divers who flip backwards and have to be able to climb back out of the water into the ship.

The other great thing is these boats are made of very tough material and are hard to puncture. They also come with many safely features, like separate air chambers and double lock valves (prevents air seepage). So if you happen to feel compelled to try and puncture the boat (teasing of course) you may still stay above water.

That being said, you still need to be careful and I suggest getting only an inflatable watercraft that is certified by the national sea manufacturers association.

3. Made so you can Bring Friends Along

When I initially heard of an inflatable watercraft, the 1st thought I had was Are they not just toys? This is so not right anymore and with the stiff designs, these boats have amazingly huge storage facility.

The only thing to be conscious of with your cheap inflatable boat is load should be considered an individual. So if your boat is rated a 3-person boat that suggests three folk without load.

Jelly Baby Vodka Jellies & Party Bags!?

31st August 2010 / Author: admin

For my birthday im having my party on a booze cruise. Im going to do party bags for everyone when they leave the boat.
So far in my party bags iv got
Britney Spears mini perfume sprays
Fortune Fish
Giant Sunglasses
Glow Sticks
Hawaiin Leis
Whistles
Inflatable Guitars
Party Poppers
Balloons
Confettii Bags
And im not sure what else, but..
I was thinking on Ebay iv found some shot glasses that come with lids and i was thinking that it would be quite fun (and cheaper) to make some vodka jellies, as i dont think its wise to have normal liquid in these shot glasses however airtight ebay say they are. And i thought jelly baby flavour would be quite cool.
But i cant seem to find any recipes and what few i have found there all different.
Im guessing i would prob put the jelly babies in the vodka and leave to dissolve, however long it takes and then get a packet of jelly and make it up as if it was normal jelly and then pour into the shot glasses to set?
Any advice would be great!!!
Thanks xxx

Canoe and kayak help?

30th August 2010 / Author: admin

my family and i are looking at kayaks and canoes. were are not sure witch one to get. right know we are looking at canoes. in our family we have a 3 year old boy a 5 year old girl mom is 28 and dad (me) is 25. both mom and me are over wight. she is around 210 and i am 315. a few months ago we try-ed a tandem kayak at a lake and it was Very easy for both of us. over an hour in the water and we did not get too tired! seeing how much we liked it we ran out and bought a sayour HF360 ( a 16′ 6 person inflatable) but after about 10 Min’s we were tired. :-( we really want to do some paddling. when i have looked at kayaks i figured we would need 2 tandems. problem is they are expensive! even used on Craig’s list!! we just started looking at canoes and they look as if they would be cheaper. one could fit all of us for the the same price as one kayak ( so then we wouldn’t need two ) so what would you recommend. we live in the high desert in California there are some lakes near by. no rapids. it would be nice to only use one boat instead of 2. how much harder will it be to paddle then a kayak? can i attach a trolling motor to it? how? how much easy-er then the inflatable would paddling be? where could i find a good priced one? witch one would you recommend for us? and if you know the area where are some good spots around to start paddling? thanks for reading i will pick best answer!
to Cruisemaster: thanks for the answer! i see you have the 158 canoe. how do you like that one? that is one i was thinking about. also i have not been able to find anyplaces that will let me "test drive" anything. and local rentals are around 120 a day. i dont really want to spend that much for a test drive when the boats is only 650.

can you impress a girl with…?

How to persuade my dad to let me buy a boat?

20th August 2010 / Author: admin

RIght to the point, I am an ocean boy at heart and I live right on the coast. I have always loved hanging out with my friends on their boats and going in the water to fish crab etc. And several years ago my dad bought me a small inflatable with a nice Tohatsu 8 horse and tons of accessories. Believe it or not there was to much nice stuff on the boat for me to just enjoy the experience of going in the water and the one on one bonding with mother nature, also the boat was docked more than 15 miles away from my house and was not easily accessible. Soon we took the boat out and stored it for the winter. Most of the next summer went by with me unable to find a cheap berth for my boat. So it stayed in the back yard for most of the summer. My dad told me if i couldn’t find a place to dock the boat in 3 weeks, he would sell it. Luckily enough I got bitten by a tick and contracted lyme in the 1st week of my 3 week time limit. i spend the next 2 1/2 weeks recuperating until i was strong enough to leave the house. By the time i managed to patch the boat I was 1 week overdue and my dad sold the boat.

Present: I gave it a while before posing the question again that I would like to buy another boat. This time with my own money and not an incredibly nice boat that I feel I don’t deserve. I have 6000 dollars that I have earned and saved for a while and I was hoping to buy a really junky 14ft aluminum boat along with an old 6 horse two stroke. Total cost of this boat ends up at 600 flat with the motor but my dad says he wont let me buy it, and he says I can buy a 540 dollar kit of plywood to build a boat but not a legit boat with a good motor for more. Also i am hoping to get a lobster license and i already have some traps and this would be a good way to make money. I don’t know what is wrong with my dad but i know I’m right and he just wont listen

My boat is A 12 foot inflatable so i need a light battery hopefully under 60 dollars my motor is a 30 thrust endura from minn kota.
